Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking an Audit Adjunct Instructor.
The Accounting Department invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in Accounting with a specialization in Auditing. The Audit Instructor will provide high-quality instruction to community college students and support the department’s mission of preparing students for careers in accounting, auditing, and related fields.
Provide instruction in auditing, including internal controls, risk management, and assurance services.
Prepare and deliver course materials in accordance with program learning outcomes and college standards.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit grades in a timely manner.
Evaluate and assess student learning, providing constructive feedback to support student development.
Remain current in the field through professional development, certification maintenance, and industry engagement.
Part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the education and experience of the applicant.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Accounting or Master’s Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Accounting.
Minimum of a single current professional certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Relevant professional experience in auditing, internal controls, or assurance services.
Ability to teach on-campus, via zoom and asynchronously in a Hyflex environment.
Additional Considerations:
Prior teaching experience at the community college or university level.
Proficiency with audit software, data analytics, and accounting technologies.
Demonstrated ability to employ multiple teaching strategies in an hyflex environment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural and understanding.
