Duties
Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
Conduct repairs on various systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, brakes, steering, and alignments.
Service vehicle components such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, shocks & struts, and tire service to ensure optimal performance.
Repair and replace critical parts like air brakes, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto body components, and welding repairs.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle systems with precision.
Maintain detailed records of repairs performed using auto estimating software; communicate clearly with customers about service needs.
Ensure vehicles meet safety standards by inspecting automotive electrical systems and performing necessary maintenance or repairs.
Qualifications
Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair across various vehicle makes and models.
Dealership experience is highly preferred; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, diesel engine repair, and automotive electrical systems.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for complex repairs.
Ability to perform auto body repairs and work confidently with transmissions, powertrain components, shocks & struts, suspension systems, and brake systems.
Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent customer service skills to explain repairs clearly to clients.
Certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent are desirable; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
