Job Summary of Automotive Mechanic:
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team and ensure the optimal performance of our diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, systems, and components to ensure reliability and safety. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Responsibilities of Automotive Mechanic:
• Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability.
• Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
• Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
• Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
• Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.
Qualification of Automotive Mechanic:
• An equivalent to a high school diploma is necessary for this position.
• The preferable qualifications include a Class-A CDL license and DOT certification
• Applicants are required to have a minimum of three years of proven hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a mixture of both. Alternatively, they should possess a minimum of two years of verified hands-on experience with either a Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification, or both.
• Proficiency in diagnostics and troubleshooting for efficient equipment repair services.
• Displayed strong independent analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Prior engagement in managing a relevant project management system.
• It is essential to furnish your own personal hand tools.
• Ensuring that both the shop and fleet are in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Proficiency in understanding technical and service guides for operational purposes.
• Possesses excellent communication skills, facilitating effective communication with colleagues and drivers, showcasing a strong teamwork orientation.
• Capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a quick-paced setting with limited supervision.
• Capacity to be nimble and adaptive in meeting organizational and operational changes.
• Familiarity with computer systems and experience with software interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to be available for work at flexible times, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to work beyond regular hours as necessary for the role

• Frequently working with items that are classified as light, with weights typically falling between 10 and 20 pounds
• In some instances, weights falling within the medium category could be between 25 to 50 pounds
• Items that occasionally weigh between 50 and 100 pounds are classified as heavy
• If the weight exceeds 100 pounds (Very Heavy), lifting up to 120-150 pounds is possible with a two-person lift
• Those who have a sedentary lifestyle are regularly involved in the task of carrying weights that fall within the 1 to 10-pound category
• Frequently deal with loads that fall within the 10-20 pound range (Light class)
• Occasionally falls between 25-50 lbs (Medium category)
• Occasionally, tasks involving heavy objects that weigh between 50 to 100 pounds
• Sometimes managing items that weigh more than 100 pounds (Classified as very heavy)
• The dynamics of demand for transmissions, tires, and clutches involve a blend of both pull and push forces, leading to market variability
• Periodically, ladders and liftgates are essential for tasks that involve climbing and balance
• Stoop/squat Frequently
• Kneel/bend Occasionally
• Bend Frequently
• Every now and then, extend your reach above the shoulder
