Position Overview
What success looks like in this role:
As Azure AVD SME, you will be supporting steady state operations providing strategic direction to the team. You should hands-on expertise in the design, implementation, and optimization of Azure Virtual Desktop solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of Azure services, virtualization technologies, and a track record of successfully architecting and managing complex AVD environments.
As a key member of the AVD support team, you will act as client facing on daily basis to meet client needs and deliver outcomes to cater the end user cloud digital transformations. You are responsible to maintain high level client satisfaction.
You will be part of a high-performance team of client engagement professionals especially the architects and Client delivery executives in delivering flawless steady state Day2 services to client. This includes delivering quarterly service improvement plans, making the delivery model lean and driving the optimization of operational cost of overall delivery through automations on Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic guidance and advisory services to stakeholders on the utilization of Azure Virtual Desktop to meet organizational goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to virtualization and cloud computing.
• Lead the design and architecture of scalable and secure Azure Virtual Desktop solutions, considering factors such as performance, security, and compliance.
• Expertise on FSLogix management and policies.
• Collaborate with project teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Take a hands-on approach in implementing and optimizing Azure Virtual Desktop environments, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. Especially should have expertise on Scaling of Azure resources.
• Identify the performance tuning and optimization configurations to enhance overall system efficiency at regular basis to adopt to the demand and to meet user and application base requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert in implementing advanced security measures for Azure Virtual Desktop, addressing compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Provide guidance on data protection, identity management, and access controls.
• Develop advanced automation strategies through Terraform or integrated PowerShell scripting to customize and manage AVD resources. Also lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate deployment and configuration tasks.
• Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex technical issues related to Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Lead, collaborate with SMO, and other technical towers during P1 and P2 to investigation. Should lead in analyzing and troubleshooting the critical incidents.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Conduct training and mentoring sessions for internal teams, and to share advanced insights and best practices with various teams and stake holders.

• Expertise on managing Subscriptions and Respective Resource Groups.
• Windows Operating system:
• Expertise on Windows Server and Windows 10/11 Operating systems.
• L3 Level troubleshooting skills on OS related issues including Analysis skills and performance tuning that includes expertise on windows debugging toolset.
• Expertise on Client-Server architecture with respect to OS Components.
• Expertise to deploy OS updates and Security updates through Configuration Management tools like SCCM, MECM, Intune etc...
• Windows Active Directory
• Experience at L2 level on Active Directory Users and Computer objects.
• Manage Group Policies Objects configured for AVD Environment.
• Should have knowledge on Endpoint Operations tools like MECM, Antivirus, MDM, etc.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure components in the cloud.
• Expertise on remote desktop services and protocols.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with Azure security and compliance features.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
• Minimum experience 8+ years’ experience working on AVD support.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written skills,
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Alliance to Google, AWS, Azure, and other progressive cloud/container vendors is a requirement.
• Should have hands on experience and knowledge on Cloud transformations services suite end to end.
• Experience and knowledge on designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud IaaS and PaaS.
• Knowledge on cloud architecture design principles and best practices.
• Knowledge and basic understanding for preparing cost estimation for cloud solutions.
• Experience with cloud migration strategies and tools.
• Expert in emerging solutions, roadmap, and the business applications of technology.
• Expert knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of competitor products and services portfolio.
• Knowledge on industry best practices, and tools.
• Certified on Azure Virtual Desktop Administration.
• Certification on Azure Administrator Associate and Azure Developer Associate is desirable.
