The program
The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates; as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.

Your responsibilities will include:
The position of Aviation Operations Officer is to execute current flight schedules for the 5428 Pilot Program. You will be required to gather, summarise, interpret, report, and maintain information regarding schedule activity to plan and develop current flight schedules.
This will involve the completion of tasks including but not limited to:
Prepare and maintain relevant flying information utilising the PTS OPS briefing displays.
Prepare and deliver daily unit flying brief.
Obtain relevant NOTAM information from NAIPS and the Base Air Operations Co-ordination Cell.
Provision of up-to-date meteorological information from the meteorology office via Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) staff and internet-based services.
Disseminate general information to PTS units as required.
Manage the Daily Flying Program (DFP) to facilitate PTS flying operations.
About you:
Essential:
Ability to facilitate and maintain excellent customer relationships.
Strong organisational, planning, communication, decision making, troubleshooting/problem solving skills coupled with the ability to prioritise and remain calm in challenging circumstances.
Working knowledge of NAIPS (Flight Notifications) and NOTAMs.
Ability and willingness to work on a rostered basis to meet operational requirements, including night flying support.
Availability to support away-base deployments for up to two weeks per year, twice a year.
Intermediate MS Office experienceincluding relevant software packages and applications.
Desirable
Relevant studies in Aviation and / or relevant experience in flight planning
Previous Pilot licence and / or Operations and or scheduling experience within Aviation industry
Previous experience in flight scheduling software e.g ULTRA Flight Pro
Experience working in a Quality & Safety focused environment
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
