About the role
MSS Security is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Protection Officer to join our team at Ballina Airport. As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and airport operations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conduct security screening for passengers, staff and visitors.
Operate security technology and systems, including metal detectors, to identify potential risks or prohibited items.
Perform scans when required for passengers, staff and visitors to ensure no prohibited items are being carried.
Conduct Explosive Trace Detection tests.
Operate X-ray machines to screen luggage for dangerous goods, prohibited items, or weapons.
Perform thorough bag searches when necessary to ensure compliance with aviation security regulations.
Monitor and patrol airport premises to identify and report any security threats or breaches.
Requirements:
Full Australian working rights.
NSW Security License (preferred)
Ability to undergo and pass a national security police check.
Ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment (including drug and ******* testing).
Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours.
24/7 availability required.
