Organizational Overview:
Synchrony Credit Team influences and monitors credit actions across the lifecycle of customers. Spread across multiple pillars, the team caters to data management, model development, strategy design, regulatory reporting around acquisition, account management, collections and data governance and bringing it all to life through technology. This team enables powerful and proprietary insights on customer risk and credit behaviors. The insights are driven by access to numerous alternative data sources, new age technologies, focused strategies, emerging algorithms, and predictive precision. You will have access to some unique product propositions, functional and leadership training, senior leadership teams.
Role Summary:
Seeking an AVP, who will be part of Credit Regulatory Reporting team (1st LOD). The candidate will be responsible for end- to-end responsibilities from gathering data requirements from stakeholders, analysis, reporting, documentation and governance around Regulatory reporting efforts and business segments. Ensure data completeness, accuracy and timely delivery of reports working cross functionally on data reconciliation routines and data integrity initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Prepares monthly performance credit metrics’ reports on delinquency, losses, payments and customer behavior attributes and perform portfolio deep dives
• Interpret reporting requirements from stakeholders, identify data attributes from multiple data warehouses, perform validation to support critical Regulatory reports
• Ensure data completeness, accuracy and timeliness working cross functionally on data reconciliation routines and data integrity initiatives
• Conduct analytical reviews of regulatory reports to ensure variances between periods and trends are reasonable and sufficiently explained. Recognize, investigate, document and explain fluctuations and trends to the management
• Recommend process improvement opportunities to streamline the process, anticipate problems, enhance accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the reporting process
• Assist in analysis to respond to FED/OCC/CFPB/Supervisory Affairs data requests
• Provide solutions for data issues noticed, interact with stakeholders from various functions and data warehouse teams to propose and implement solutions
• Maintain clean codes, job-aids and related documents and assist with Internal and External Audit requests
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to propose/implement solutions to achieve business objectives
• Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in any steam with minimum of 5 Years of relevant experience in financial/credit reporting or data analysis role.
• Advanced SAS/SQL experience
• Strong Database querying and data transformation expertise (i.e., Oracle, SQL, SAS).
• Experience dealing with complex and large data sets from multiple sources to support analytical processes.
• Quantitative, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Action oriented, takes initiative to challenge current processes and implement change.
• Hands on or ability to learn visualization tools SAS VA, Tableau, Excel
• Exposure to finance industry or knowledge of SYF credit card business.
Desired Characteristics:
• Undergraduate degree in Statistics, MIS, Finance, Engineering, Economics
• Strong analytic, attention to detail required with proven ability to analyze complex data and draw easily understood conclusions
• Effective communication skills to talk to stakeholders and ask right questions
• Credit card industry experience working with data governance, risk analytics, large financial datasets and perform complex analysis
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree in any steam with minimum of 5 Years of relevant experience in financial/credit reporting or data analysis role or in lieu of a degree 7 Years of relevant experience in financial/credit reporting or data analysis role.
Work Timings: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
