Job Title – Associate

Position Description:
The Business Finance function is responsible for the production of business level revenue attribution, financial accounting and financial disclosures for Base Metal and Precious Metal products. It ensures, on a daily basis, the accurate and timely reporting of Profit and Loss (PnL) for each business unit and ensures that the drivers behind the risk positions and PnL are fully understood and explained. It also ensures that all of the Bank’s transactions and positions are correctly reflected in the Bank’s PnL and Balance Sheet and disclosures, in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting Metals set up for monthly Financial Control activity including Legal Entity set up. Testing the front to back pipe through the finance infrastructure, i.e. from trade booking through physical and cash settlement and the corresponding financials. Timely accurate reporting of Ledger by taking manual journals, following robust control framework like FOBO, MAFA, Balance Sheet Substantiation and Balance sheet review.
• Problem solving like break investigation such as Model vs Actual (Ledger) Cash, FO/MO system vs trade docs etc and representing data analysis is critical for success in this role.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely production of daily T+1 P&L production, attribution and analysis.
• Providing daily commentary and variance investigation to Front Office traders and senior Finance managers
• Ensure compliance to risk and control guidelines.
• Stakeholder management by prompt response to various queries/issues from Finance directors, onshore management, Front office traders, Fincon, Risk management, etc.
• Understand trade flows, booking structures and ensure that the trades are captured in accordance with such defined structure which will enable accurate funding cost allocation through Funds transfer pricing.
Your Skills And Experience
• Financial Control and product control experience in Metals [Base & Precious] derivative.
• Strong understanding of financial market products such as FX Derivatives with metals underlying. Also ledger controls around Cash and Physical settlement.
• IFRS/GAAP knowledge is preferred
• Strong knowledge / experience of front to back Investment Banking environment (trade capture to balance sheet)
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritizes responsibilities, and escalates issues as necessary.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strong Word and Excel skills required
• Need to be a good team player
Education:
• Preferably qualified MBA/CA / CFA.
