• Wholesale Credit and Market Risk (WMR) department measures and monitors global credit and market risks arising from lending and trading activities as well as providing credit approval for corporates and financial institution.
• The Risk Reporting team within Data and Reporting Services in GSC supports portfolio analysis and monitoring, produce reports for Risk Management Meetings and Board committee meetings. It also monitors the credit quality, identifies, measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects.

The Opportunity:

Supports and manages various aspects of portfolio analysis and the reporting of wholesale, traded credit & market risk primarily including:
• Production of BAU MI supporting OCC/FRB Businesses, WMR Senior Management, Group, Finance, and Analytics
• Collaboration with onshore WMR Portfolio Analysis team on ad-hoc MI, projects & analysis
• Credit Policy & Group FIM compliance monitoring
• Assist with data quality issue detection to ensure accurate month end data
• Drive process efficiency through automation and streamlining initiatives to improve turn-around time of report delivery.

What you’ll do:

The job-holder’s responsibilities cover at a high level the following:
• Produce and support Wholesale Credit Risk reporting & analysis including: Portfolio monitoring, the identification of and setting controls for Concentrations of Credit, the production of periodic & ad hoc MI, written commentary for Risk Committee papers and presentations, Audit, Regulatory, and Group response support, specialized & event driven analysis, and the development and build out of risk system architecture.
• Work on ad-hoc requests from onshore business partners to provide data, report and analysis based on business and Senior Management requirements.
• Prepare the monthly inputs for the Risk Management Meetings and Board committee meetings.
• Assist credit and the wholesale businesses by providing accurate and useful risk management tools.
• Regularly manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Identifies measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects.
• Understand Credit Policy, procedures and guidelines to account for changing regulatory, economic and political environments. Analyses related reports to manage risk.
• Automate the key MIs using and support on adhoc projects such as Tableau Dashboards and migration of WCR portfolio to Google cloud platform.
• Assist and provide informations required by internal and external auditor.
• Guide and mentor junior members in the team to deliver key business objectives and help them drive quality solutions from GSC and create capability.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Qualifications:
• Graduate or Post-Graduate in Engineering /Commerce/ Finance/Economics or related field

Skills:
• Excellent analytical skills, including analytical languages (SQL, SAS, Python, etc.)
• Experience working with MI visualization tools such as Tableau / Qlikview/Business Objects etc.
• Knowledge of Credit Risk concepts (wholesale preferred) for risk reporting and portfolio analysis.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency and intermediate proficiency on other MS office suite applications.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with positive attitude are essential.
• Be change oriented and able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines as required.
• Ability to deal in a multi-stakeholder relationship in a complex environment
• Willing to work along with colleagues in other areas/time zones.

Experience:
• Professional experience in a financial services or consulting firm.
• Prior experience in dealing with virtual business partners across the globe

What additional skills will be good to have?
• Experience in corporate banking / wholesale risk management/ portfolio management in multiple corporate sectors/ geographies is preferred.
• Knowledge of HSBC Group, its operations, systems and products and risk systems preferable
• Self-starter, who can think proactively. Demonstrate the ability to learn abstract concepts and to operate effectively against uncertainty and on unfamiliar ground.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate with a various range of stakeholders including technical and non-technical staff.
• Routine work involves regular dialogue with colleagues in HSBC CA. Hence, Role Holders must be willing to work late evening hours with an indicative log off at 11.30 pm India Time. However, Role Holders must be prepared to stay longer to meet business requirements.
