Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Engineer with strong expertise in Python and PySpark to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms on AWS Cloud. The candidate will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to build robust data solutions supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
AWS Data Engineers typically design scalable data pipelines, manage ETL processes, and optimize data processing using AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, and Redshift.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Develop data ingestion and transformation workflows using AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Implement and maintain data lake and data warehouse solutions on AWS (S3, Redshift, Athena).
• Optimize Spark jobs, SQL queries, and data processing performance for large-scale datasets.
• Develop data models and ensure data quality, integrity, and governance standards.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline failures using AWS monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data requirements.
• Participate in architecture discussions and recommend best practices for scalable data solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow coding and deployment standards.
Required Skills
• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services:
• Amazon S3
• AWS Glue
• EMR
• Lambda
• Redshift
• Athena
• EC2
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based ETL pipelines.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
• Knowledge of distributed data processing and performance optimization.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
