Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of database administration, focusing on AWS database technologies
Must be a U.S. Citizen (and non-dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance
In-depth knowledge of AWS database services, such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, etc
Experience with PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, CDK,
Strong understanding of network and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and HTTP
Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries
Familiarity with data security and privacy best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements
Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time and disaster recovery solutions
Self-motivated and proactive, with excellent organization and time management skills
Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with business and technology teams
Strong understanding and experience operating in an agile development environment

Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS databases, including proactive identification and resolution of issues to maintain high availability and performance
Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime in case of failures
Design, develop, and implement databases in AWS cloud environments, aligning with scalability, security, and performance best practices
Perform data migrations from existing databases to ASWS, ensuring seamless transitions and data integrity
Setup and maintain database replication for high availability and disaster recovery purposes
Establish and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data privacy best practices
Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and roles following the organization's security policies and requirements
Develop and execute database scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline operations
Monitor and analyze database activity, identify trends, and optimize query performance and resource utilization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, troubleshoot database related issues, and provide technical guidance
Stay updated with the latest AWS database technologies, tools, and best practices, continuously evaluating their potential impact to our database environment
Maintain technical system documentation as needed for audits and compliance
Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to team members
Work with the project teams in support of creating and participating in building customer briefings

About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a AWS Database Administrator to join us.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS databases, including proactive identification and resolution of issues to maintain high availability and performance.

Education and Years of Experience:
