About BIU
Business Intelligence Unit is a high profile team with a mandate to drive data based decisions within the bank. Reporting into the Head Banking Operations and Transformation, this department works with all businesses of the bank including retail, small business and corporate to drive analytics. In terms of functions, the department has teams focused on all aspects of analytics for the bank including risk analytics, financial crime analytics, business and marketing analytics building predictive scores, data engineering and business reporting.
About the Role
The person would be a part of the Retail Business Reporting team focusing on development of Retail MIS and Dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
• The candidate will be responsible for the following in his/her job role:
• Build data marts for the Business team’s consumption using Big Data ecosystem/Informatica ETL tools
• Works with senior team members to evaluate existing processes in relation to industry leading practices
• Assess the data sources for various data requirements across the horizontal area Assess appropriateness of the data model architecture to build data as a product Support and contribute to the ongoing initiatives aligned with business priorities Handling analytical requirements of clients with passion for designing, building and automating standard business processes/reports/ Business intelligence and Analytics dashboards.
• Extensive Data Handling, Data Massaging, Writing PL SQL / Oracle codes and Informatica workflows
• Strong analytical skills to work with complex processes and perform complex data manipulations and analysis.
• Work with large datasets and use data analytics tools to draw conclusions. Quick learner with excellent communication and presentation skills and has ability to interrelate with people at all levels.
• Ensure efficient and quality delivery against requirements set forth by senior management
• Develop and share best practices with multiple stakeholders Axis Bank|Public Exploring and implementing alternate data modeling and segmentation techniques
• Ensure flawless delivery of projects on time
• Qualifications Graduation in Computer Science or IT Minimum 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Banking/ Insurance experience will be added advantage
• Strong data handling, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to process large volume of transaction level data and efficiently derive actionable results.
• Having a ‘results oriented’ attitude with ‘go get it done’ skill
• Good project management skills while working with both internal and external partners
• Should have a high degree of motivation with a continuous thirst for learning
Qualifications
• Advanced degree (master’s or above) in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics or Finance
• Skills : Technical Skills:- Oracle, PL SQL / Informatica ETL / Microsoft Office
Role Proficiencies:
For successful execution of the job, a candidate should possess the following:
Knowledge
• Regular synthesis, reporting, Dashboard and insight driven approach for the bank’s products/Business numbers
• Good grasp on variety of ETL tools like Informatica , Datawarehousing , SQL
• Expertise on DBMS tools such as Oracle, Hadoop and SQL
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline using jenkins
• Understanding of Banking service domain(Cards, Retail Bank, Lending/Liabities Product)
• Very strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Good communication, presentation and inter-personal skills
• High level of motivation and be a fast learner
Functional Skills:
• Strong data handling, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to process large volume of transaction level data and efficiently derive actionable results.
• Having a ‘results oriented’ attitude with ‘go get it done’ skill
• Good management skills while working with both internal and external partner.
• Good understanding of Data Visualization and Presentation
Skills:
• Experience in building Insightful dashboards in BI Tools like SAS VA, Tableau, Power BI, SAP BO or other similar tools
