Position: Azure Cosmos DB Admin and Developer
Employment Type: Contract, Full time
Start: ASAP
Location: London – 5 days per week
Languages: English
Role – We’re looking for an experienced Azure Cosmos DB Administrator and Developer to take a leading role in the design, development, and optimization of cloud-native applications within the banking and financial services sector.
This is a high-impact role focused on building secure, scalable, and high-performance systems for real-time data processing. You'll architect innovative solutions using Azure Cosmos DB (SQL API and Mongo API), develop reusable libraries and frameworks with C#/.NET or Node.js, and implement best-in-class CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps.
Key skills:
• Proven experience designing scalable applications with Azure Cosmos DB, including query optimization and throughput management.
• Strong background in concurrency patterns, CLR (Common Language Runtime), and scalable system architecture.
• Hands-on expertise in Azure services, including Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, and Logic Apps.
• Experience with NoSQL data modeling and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Advanced skills in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Familiarity with Node.js in backend development contexts.
• Exposure to secure coding practices and financial data compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
• Consulting background is a plus.
• Strong communication skills (oral & written)
• Rights to work in the UK is must (No Sponsorship available)
Responsibilities:
• Architect and develop scalable, cloud-native applications using Azure Cosmos DB (SQL and Mongo APIs).
• Design effective partitioning strategies, indexing, and consistency models for high-performance systems.
• Build and maintain reusable components, libraries, and frameworks using C#/.NET or Node.js.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate and accelerate deployments.
• Monitor and optimize Cosmos DB performance using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Implement automated unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Integrate Cosmos DB into modern microservices ecosystems in collaboration with architecture and DevOps teams.
• Ensure full compliance with industry-standard security, governance, and data protection regulations.
• Drive alignment between technology implementations and business outcomes.
• Contribute to strategic projects that advance digital transformation in the financial domain.
