Objective Responsibilities
• Documentation: Documenting client, developer and project KPIs and requirements for creating an execution plan.
• Management: Ensuring smooth coordination between product design/development and business operations for swifter, more successful new launches.
• Design and Development: Crafting IT solutions to improve the organisation’s development infrastructure and deploying automation to reduce risk management.
• System Analysis: Monitoring and upgrading the organisation’s software capabilities to improve the development lifecycle.
• Collaboration and Support: Working extensively with various departments to improve scalability, reliability and risk mitigation.
• Deployment: Deploying automated processes, deploying appropriate CI/CD tools and building CI/CD pipelines continuously.
• Knowledge: Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices, and utilising them to improve operational efficiency.
• Performance Management: Reducing the time to market for products and continuously monitoring performance to plug gaps and introduce viable alternatives.
• Troubleshooting: Fixing techniques and code bugs.
Roles
An Azure DevOps Engineer has to juggle multiple roles on the floor. Candidates can also go for specialisation in one role to give themselves an edge. These roles are aligned with the responsibilities and include:
• DevOps Evangelist: Promotes a culture of DevOps methodologies in the organisation and ensures that the team members are well-trained in them.
• Azure DevOps Developer/Tester: Automates the testing phase and is expected to code, unit test, deploy, and monitor the applications.
• Automation Architect: Implements strategies and analyses designs for deployment in a continuous automated manner.
• Security Engineer: Works alongside developers to ensure the security and integrity of all products and provides recommendations on the same.
• Experience Assurance Professionals: Ensure that the user experience of the products is intact by testing features and functionalities.
• Release Manager: Oversees the coordination, integration, development, testing, deployment, and delivery of every DevOps product.
• Utility Technology Player: Works and operates tools, networks, databases, servers, over-development platforms, and development and support
