Position Overview:
As a Legal Officer, you will be responsible for providing legal support to various departments within the company, particularly in relation to event contracts, intellectual property rights, licensing, compliance, and general commercial matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to events, including vendor agreements, sponsorship deals, performer contracts, and venue agreements.
- Provide legal support on intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademarks, and licensing issues.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues impacting the events industry.
- Help manage legal disputes and work with external counsel when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, including health and safety regulations, data protection laws, and labor laws.
- Assist in reviewing marketing materials and promotional content to ensure legal compliance.
- Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation and records.
- Provide general legal advice to internal teams, including event managers, marketing, and operations.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents and reports.
Qualifications:
- A law degree (LL.B or equivalent) and qualified to practice law.
- 3 years of experience in a legal role with corporates or law firm.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts and legal frameworks.
- Knowledge of intellectual property laws, data protection, and event regulations is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
