Job Title: Backend Engineer - API Specialist

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer - API Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our APIs and backend systems. You will work closely with our frontend developers and data engineers to ensure that our APIs are scalable, secure, and perform optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable and secure APIs that enable integration with third-party systems and power our frontend applications
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented backend code using languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure that our APIs are optimized for frontend use and can handle high traffic loads
• Work closely with data engineers to integrate our APIs with our data pipelines and databases
• Ensure that our APIs are compliant with industry standards and best practices for security and performance
• Develop and maintain API documentation, including API reference documentation and developer guides
• Optimize API performance, including response times and throughput, and troubleshoot any issues that arise
• Continuously update and improve our backend systems and APIs to improve user experience and engagement
• Maintain documentation of backend development processes and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in backend development or a related field
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for backend development, such as Python, Java, or Node.js
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Flask, Django, or Express
• Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team
• Experience developing and maintaining APIs
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, including containerization and deployment automation, is a plus
