We are actively expanding our team and looking for passionate and motivated professionals who are keen to join us in our next phase of growth.Senior/Backend Engineer Location : India (remote)The Opportunity Kiddo Health Inc. has developed a leading remote patient monitoring platform (Kiddo) focused on pediatric applications. We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team to develop and test api’s for our wearable biosensor, our mobile application, and our web portal. In this role, you will partner with firmware developers, mobile app developers, algorithm engineers and scientists to build new features and support/enhance existing ones. This is an exciting opportunity for a backend engineer, with a passion for bringing better health and care to children, who is dedicated to excellence in job performance and enjoys communicating and working with others in a dynamic, fast-growing, technology and product-led company.What You Will Do / Responsibilities - Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to define and refine API specifications for Kiddo.- Lead the full-lifecycle development of Kiddo backend systems, from ideation, proof-of-concept and requirements definition to design, implementation, and testing- Establish and implement required (static and dynamic) testing and verification processes (unit, integration, system) to ensure a high-quality product- Enhance and improve backend system reliability, scalability, and response time.- Partner with product, design, engineering, clinical and quality assurance teams to facilitate and improve the product development lifecycle- Work with data engineering team in building, optimizing, and maintaining data architecture and data pipeline to support next-generation analytics and machine learning. Utilizing tools and languages like SQL/NoSQL and Python.What You Bring / Candidate Profile The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in designing, developing, shipping, and maintaining complex backend systems for wearable electronics, medical devices or similar health-tech activities. The candidate has hands-on knowledge and experience with cloud-based infrastructure, python-based api frameworks and tooling, and the agile software development process.Required Education/Experience - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field- 5+ years of backend systems and software development experience, preferably in health-tech, medical device or wearables- Extensive experience programming in Python.- Excellent communication, presentation, time-management, and analytical skills- Strong competency in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.- Experience with version control systems such as Git.- Experience with large-scale distributed systems.- Experience with any public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).- Good verbal and written technical communication ability to facilitate collaboration.- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and value end-to-end ownership of components.- Intellectually curious and open to challenges.Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree in engineering, sciences, or related field.- Experience with Agile development methodology.- Experience developing and working with REST APIs.- Experience building scalable and reliable data pipelines.- Experience with integration of data from multiple sources.- Experience working with analytics and/or data processing engines.- Experience with data science/analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, Koalas).- Experience with task schedulers in distributed computing (e.g., Spark, Ray, Dask
