We’re looking for a Back-End Engineer who can build fast, iterate faster, and work tightly with our Front-End Engineers and UI Designer. You’ll help us wire up real product features with real-world consequences, and when the design has to change mid-implementation, you’ll collaborate with your team to make adjustments on the fly, without drama..
This is not a maintenance role. This is foundational build work, and we need someone who’s ready to meet the moment.
What You’ll Do
• Build and evolve core back-end systems using Python and PostgreSQL
• Own APIs that power key product flows, and shape how they evolve
• Work side-by-side with front-end engineers and designers to iterate fast and ship UI-driven features
• Write and maintain tests, and monitoring for your services
• Participate in architecture discussions and raise the bar for system design
• Own production issues end-to-end: investigate, fix, and follow through
• Ideate, iterate, and debug live with the team; even if it’s 9PM on a Friday
Who You Are
• 4+ years building back-end systems in production environments
• Strong in Python (or similar OOP language), and fluent in writing SQL — especially PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with API design, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
• Founder-speed mindset: you put in the effort it takes to win
• You understand that back-end decisions shape front-end experiences — and vice versa
• You prefer to work closely with people: designers, front-end devs, product
• You communicate clearly, give direct feedback, and take ownership
• You don’t measure success by tickets closed, but by what actually gets shipped and works
• Bonus: fintech experience or experience in another industry where some features just can’t start failing randomly, this is not a gym planning app.
