About the Internship:
As a Backend developer at Root En Route, you will be building the technology platform that empowers our customer's shopping experience. Root En Route's engineering team builds the technology platform that empowers our customers' shopping experience and enables the smooth flow of products from suppliers to our customer's doorsteps. We work on building scalable web applications, engaging user interfaces, mobile apps, workflow systems, inventory management, etc. We are a small technology team where each individual makes a huge impact. You will have the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing organization and gain exposure to all the elements of a comprehensive e-commerce platform. As a back-end developer at Root En Route, you will be responsible for building scalable and efficient services that smoothen the customer's purchasing journey.
Key responsibilities:
1. Write maintainable/scalable/efficient code
2. Follow coding standards, unit-testing, code reviews, etc.
3. Follow release cycles and commitment to deadlines
4. Design & architect technical solutions for the business problems of an e-commerce portal
1. The ability to work independently and with other team members to ensure on-time quality delivery of applications
2. The ability to learn new technologies along with team and a positive outlook to understand problems from the business point of view
3. Strong problem-solving skills, data structures, and algorithms
4. Excellent coding skills in Java/J2EE
5. Well-informed in developing spring-based backend services
6. Knowledge of Web service development and consumption (REST and JSON feeds)
7. Knowledge of MySQL and asynchronous communications between services
