Job Description:
We are seeking a Back End Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the back-end systems of WordPress websites, focusing on performance, scalability, and SEO. Your expertise in WordPress, Elementor, hosting environments, and improving page speed will help deliver fast, optimized websites with excellent search engine performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain back-end systems for WordPress-based websites, ensuring clean, optimized code.
Integrate and customize themes and plugins using WordPress and Elementor to build dynamic, responsive websites.
Implement strategies to optimize page speed and overall site performance, focusing on faster load times and improved user experience.
Leverage SEO best practices to optimize websites for higher search engine rankings, including meta tags, alt attributes, keyword optimization, and URL structure.
Manage hosting environments (shared, VPS, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) and ensure server performance, security, and uptime.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize website performance using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse.
Implement caching mechanisms (e.g., Varnish, Redis) and Content Delivery Networks (CDN) to enhance site speed and reduce latency.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
Work closely with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with back-end functionality.
Ensure website security by implementing SSL, firewalls, and security plugins.
Stay updated on the latest SEO techniques and page speed optimization trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in back-end development, with strong expertise in WordPress.
Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, WordPress architecture, and Elementor customization.
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices for WordPress (including on-page SEO, schema markup, metadata, etc.).
Experience in optimizing page speed and improving Core Web Vitals (Google’s performance metrics) for better SEO.
Familiarity with caching, CDNs, and image optimization techniques for faster page loading.
Strong understanding of server management, hosting platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, cPanel, Plesk), and backend server-side optimization.
Solid experience in Git version control.
Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their integration with back-end systems.
Familiarity with website security measures (e.g., SSL, firewall configuration, server hardening).
Proficiency in using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, Lighthouse, and Pingdom for performance analysis and improvements.
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance issues efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with WooCommerce and large-scale WordPress sites.
Familiarity with Nginx, Apache server configuration, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of Docker, containerization, and deployment strategies.
Familiarity with serverless computing models (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Understanding of SEO analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
Experience working with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
