We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at Bigyellowfish. As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust and scalable backend systems, APIs, and services that power our software applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in either C#, Node.js, or Java, along with strong database proficiency in technologies such as MySQL. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems, APIs, and microservices using either C#, Node.js, or Java.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers and product managers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of backend systems through efficient code, optimization techniques, and best practices.
- Integrate with databases, primarily MySQL, to store and retrieve data efficiently and securely.
- Write and maintain complex database queries, indexes, and stored procedures to optimize database performance.
- Implement and maintain proper data security measures and data access controls.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in backend development and databases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 to 4 years of proven experience as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on backend development and databases.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Node.js, or Java.
- Strong database proficiency, particularly with MySQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, schema design, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and knowledge of deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and self-driven attitude.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
