About the Role
Roll up your sleeves and climb on board if you’re ready to be our next Software Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral player in Backend Engineering at Gojek - designing and developing highly scalable, reliable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant systems for our discounting engines powering GoFood .The Product and Operations team will be your companions on this ride. As a member of the GoFood Growth team, you will be building the best discounting experience for GoFood's Users. You will also contribute to the merchant side by exposing these tools in a self-serve manner.
What You Will Do
Be responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of small to medium size features and services to power core GoFood business
Communicate, collaborate and work effectively across all the pods in your team
Improve the development experience at GOJEK by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and/or code structure
Implement code that is clear, concise, performant, tested, and easily understood by others
You would be responsible for the entire lifecycle of stories: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements
What You Will Need
At least 2years relevant software development experience through internship stint and/or college projects
Good skill in design, development, testing and deploying applications on Golang or Erlang or Ruby or Java large-scale applications
Has an in-depth understanding of at least one programming language and framework
Proficient in OOP, SQL, Data structures and Algorithms
Data modeling experience in Relational databases
Ability to scope, review and refine user stories for technical completeness and to alleviate dependency risks

GoFood is the Food vertical of Gojek, which enables users to order food from restaurants via its Android & iOS app. The mission of GoFood is to provide its customer with the best possible selection of food at the most affordable price. GoFood is also the marketplace for restaurants to list their food items and increase their sales. GoFood also has its own fleet of drivers with an app where they can accept food orders and earn their daily income.
So overall it's an ecosystem consisting of consumers, merchants and drivers which GoFood manages with the ultimate aim of providing the best user experience to consumers and growth for merchants and drivers. Our team oversees GoFood's growth, in particular, which encompasses the growth of our user base and merchant-partner family. Some of the questions we tackle on a daily basis include: "How do we ease the discovery of discounts for users across GoFood touchpoints?", "How do we personalize discounts for users based on their preferences?", "How do we integrate ML models into our GoFood business to auto-generate discounts?" and "How do we enable merchant partners to create discounts with minimal steps while increasing their ROI?"
