Backup Administrator Veeam

Job brief

As a Backup Administrator, you are responsible for L3 level activities maintain backup solutions and Manage storage solution across various accounts. The goal is to backup Servers/VMs periodically using backup solutions like Veeam, NetBackup, Backup Exec and Data Domain environment and recover/archive company information in a large, complex, and widely distributed environment. Analytical proactive approach to diagnose, troubleshoot and root-cause of Backup solutions currently installed within the Uvation infrastructure and provide technical expertise to resolve escalated issues, maintain archives in accordance with the Uvation policy and procedures.

Qualified candidates will have good communication skills (in person, in writing and over concalls) and experience in documentation. He will be responsible primarily for backup and restoration solutions. Configuring and supporting daily task with backup repository configuration, Cloud storage configuration for backup repository with AWS and replication technology with Veeam. - Experience in recovering the data from other threats using backup technology.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Setup and configure Veeam server/client and tape libraries.

• Monitor daily Veeam activity and reporting to proactively avoid issues

• Modify and optimize backup schedules.

• Improve automation and productivity of backups through scripting enhancements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve missed and failed Veeam backups. Interface with vendors for escalation of issues Processing of tapes for offsite storage Update Veeam policies and procedures.

• Experience in configuring backup by using cloud storage like AWS S3 Buckets, Azure Blob Storage.

• Good Knowledge on handing virtual infrastructure and VM s. Must have good knowledge with Vmware and HyperV.

• Good skills on performance optimization.

• Solving complicated Hardware cases and Liaising with Hardware Vendor/ Veeam support

• Advanced trouble shooting skills and identify the severity of the issue, Ability to Resolving issues quickly to account/customer satisfaction and Prepare RCA

• Provide operational support on a 24x7 rotation basis.

• Knowledge of HPE Tape libraries, StoreOnce, DELL EMC Data Domain are Added Advantage

• Knowledge of Microfocus DP, DELL EMC Avamar, Networker, Commvault are Added Advantage

Preferred skills and qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of support experience as backup administrator with Veeam Backup Application

• System administration skills on UNIX/Windows

• Good Knowledge on StoreOnce and Data Domain

• Knowledge of Tape drives, Tape libraries and VTLs

• Experience in configuring backup by using cloud storage like AWS S3 Buckets, Azure Blob Storage

• Good Knowledge in Vmware and Hyper V technologies are must.

• Basic cloud knowledge is must - AWS, MS Azure & Google Cloud

• Prior experience in File System Backup, BMR, NDMP Backup, RMAN Backup, SAP MSSQL Backup and Exchange, Data Domains is desirable
