The Walmart Bakery produces hundreds of cakes, pastries, donuts, breads, and cookies daily at every Supercenter — from simple grab-and-go breakfast items to custom-decorated birthday cakes that anchor family celebrations. Position Overview
Walmart is hiring Bakery Associates to produce and decorate baked goods at Supercenter bakery departments. You will operate commercial baking equipment, mix and bake breads, pastries, and cookies, decorate cakes per customer orders and seasonal designs, and maintain the bakery display case with fresh, appealing product throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
• Mix, proof, and bake breads, rolls, donuts, cookies, and pastries using commercial bakery equipment and Walmart recipes.
• Decorate cakes and cupcakes per customer custom orders and seasonal display themes using icing, fondant, and decorating tools.
• Package baked goods for the grab-and-go display case ensuring attractive presentation, correct labeling, and proper date coding.
• Maintain bakery sanitation standards including equipment cleaning, surface sanitization, and ingredient storage compliance.
• Monitor ingredient inventory, rotating stock using FIFO, and communicating ordering needs to the department lead.
Qualifications & Benefits
Must be 18+ years of age for oven and mixer operation. No prior bakery experience required — Walmart provides full baking and decorating training. Interest in food production and willingness to learn cake decoration essential. Must stand for full shift and work near hot ovens.
