Dordlofva Caf Seattle, WA (Fremont)
Dordlofva Caf is a family-run, Swedish-inspired caf in Seattle s Fremont neighborhood, focused on handcrafted pastries, thoughtful ingredients, and the simple joy of fika. We are looking for a Baking Assistant to support our head chef with daily production of hand-crafted buns, pastries, cakes, pies, quiche, etc., in a calm, organized, and collaborative kitchen.
This is a great role for someone who loves baking, works efficiently, and wants to grow their skills in a small artisan caf environment.
Position Overview
The Baking Assistant supports daily pastry and bread production, prep, and kitchen organization.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with daily baking and pastry production (buns, scones, cookies, breads, quiche, and seasonal items)
Measure, mix, portion, and prep doughs and batters
Assist with shaping, proofing, baking, and finishing pastries
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen
Wash dishes, tools, and baking equipment
Help with inventory, labeling, and storage
Follow recipes, timelines, and food safety standards
Work efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency
Qualifications
Prior bakery, pastry, or kitchen experience required.
Interest in bread and pastry production
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Able to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
Comfortable with early morning shifts
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Prior POS system experience with restaurants/cafes a plus, but not required
References will be checked, so please include 2-3 past employment, educational, or volunteer references. 18+ only, please.
Schedule & Pay
Part-time (with potential for more hours)
8:00am 3:30pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to align with our head chef s work schedule.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hour, based on experience
