Job Title – Senior Taxation Analyst
Place of work - Mumbai
Business Unit – Direct Taxation
Function – Finance
Job Purpose:
The role bearer has the responsibility to perform various Direct Taxation related tasks, such as preparing regulatory submission, monthly TDS compliances, Income Tax return filing, advising on Foreign remittances etc. The role holder is expected to work on stringent regulatory and internal deadlines and should have good drafting, communication and analytical skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Ensuring timely and correctly filing the CIT(A)’s, ITAT or HC appeals, replying to various notices from income tax department i.e. 154, 133(6), 131 & 245 etc. Drafting the submissions & compiling the details related to assessment/reassessment proceedings, CIT(A) submission, preparation of ITAT paper book etc.
• System developments required for regulatory changes and review of SOPs on time to time basis for process improvements.
• Verifying correctness of TDS Liability on monthly basis, quarterly returns and ensuring timely filling of TDS returns, advising on applicability of TDS and handling of TDS related queries, also review of TDS related GL’s,
• Ensuring timely and correctly filing of Income Tax returns, Tax Audit report and specified Financial Transaction reporting annually before due date,
• Independently finalizing Tax Audit report by coordinating with various internal departments and tax auditors;
• Regular visit and follow-up with IT Department / officers for timely submission of response and closure of pending litigation;
• Handling queries relating to income tax assessment, appeals, statutory audit (Quarterly) etc.
• Monthly reconciliation of TDS and income tax related GL’s balances with Financials,
• Co-coordinating with various consultants for several taxation opinions,
• Advising the withholding tax applicability and documents for foreign payments related to technical fees, royalty etc.
• Assisting and advising Customers and Vendors in resolving any of their Direct tax related queries raised by them;
