Job Description
A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) provides essential support to patients and other healthcare professionals. They work under the guidance of nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and monitoring patient conditions. We are an EMI nursing home with a nurse present 24/7 so meds are their responsibility. This is a bank role so the available shifts are offered out which you can pick up.
Personal Care: Assisting patients with washing, dressing, toileting, and other personal hygiene tasks.
Mobility Assistance: Helping patients to move around, transfer from bed to chair, and use mobility aids.
Feeding and Nutrition: Supporting patients with meals, ensuring they eat and drink adequately.
Maintaining a Safe and Clean Environment: Making beds, tidying rooms, and ensuring equipment is clean and safe for use.
Emotional Support: Providing comfort, reassurance, and companionship to patients.
Communication: Communicating effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
Administrative Tasks: Assisting with basic record-keeping, collecting specimens, and preparing equipment for procedures.
Other Duties: Depending on the setting, HCAs may also be involved in wound care, medication administration (under supervision), and other clinical tasks.
Pay: £12.21 per hour
