Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal service.
Ensure that all food safety standards are adhered to, maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace.
Help with the cooking of simple dishes under the guidance of chefs or cooks.
Support the team with food preparation tasks, including chopping, mixing, and marinating ingredients.
Organise and store food items properly to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
Assist in catering events as required, ensuring all meals are prepared to high standards.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary tasks is key.
Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations is preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and cooking techniques.
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends if required.
