Bank Sonographer

What you'll be doing
As our Bank Sonographer, you will:
Manage day-to-day patient caseloads, performing high-quality ultrasound examinations including general and gynaecological scans.
Independently assess and report on images in accordance with Practice Plus Group policies and clinical standards.
Act as an autonomous practitioner, coordinating and facilitating patient-focused care.
Provide reassurance and clear communication to patients, supporting them throughout their ultrasound procedure.
Maintain cleanliness and ensure proper functioning of ultrasound equipment, reporting any faults.
Assist with the training of less experienced or new team members and bank staff.
Support ongoing quality improvement by contributing to audits and participating in peer review processes.
Keep up to date with CPD and maintain professional registration
What we’ll look for in you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be:
A qualified Sonographer with a BSc in Radiography (or equivalent) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Ultrasound
Competent in performing and reporting on a wide range of scans, including general and gynaecological
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent in your communication and patient care approach
Knowledgeable about clinical governance, infection control and data protection standards
Organised, adaptable, and confident managing your own caseload
Committed to continuous development and safe working practices
Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Ultrasound - desirable
MSK or USGI scanning experience - desirable
Background in NHS and/or independent sector - desirable
Involvement in clinical audit or research – desirable
