About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and driven Banking & Finance Lawyer with 1-3 years PQE to join our Banking & Finance team at Lavan. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of complex matters, with a focus on property and corporate finance.
Your role will involve advising both lenders and borrowers on corporate, property and project related finance, including construction and development, structured finance, project and asset finance, loan syndication, due diligence, as well as providing advice on Personal Property Securities law, Consumer Credit Code, and the Banking Code of Practice.
The team acts on complex, high value transactions for a diverse range of clients, including major banks, major sponsors, private capital and borrowers, located in Australia, Europe, and increasingly in Asia. This provides you with the opportunity to engage in high-profile and complex transactions.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Grow Lavan’s presence in the banking and finance market.
Draft, review and negotiate finance documents related to banking and finance transactions including facility agreements and security documents.
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, providing legal support and assistance under the guidance of the banking and finance partners.
Contribute to due diligence processes, ensuring thorough examination of relevant legal and risk aspects in banking and finance transactions.
Conducting and co-ordinating settlements, including attending to satisfaction of conditions precedent, execution of documents and registration of securities.
Participating in business development and client relationship activities.
