Looking to the future, we're targeting ambitious growth and success. And we're looking for the best people to be part of it.
Join a team of experts and progressive thinkers
Following continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Associate or a Senior Associate to join our Banking & Finance team.
We are an ambitious and dynamic team of banking & finance specialists, who act for a wide range of clients across a number of sectors, including healthcare, social housing, property development, local authority and education.
We regularly act for lender, investor, corporate and developer clients on funding for property acquisitions and development, corporate acquisitions and refinancing. We are continuing to expand our client base, winning places on an increasing number of bank panels, including those of challenger banks and specialist real estate lenders, notably in the healthcare sector. Our recognised expertise in healthcare finance means that we are frequently instructed on high-value and complex transactions.
We are ranked in the top tiers for social housing, healthcare and local authority work by both Chambers and Legal 500. We are also proud to have won Legal Advisor of the Year (Transactional) at the HealthInvestor Awards for four consecutive years and are again a finalist for the upcoming awards in June 2025.
The role
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a large variety of work and a chance to meaningfully contribute to the growth of our Banking & Finance practice, by building relationships with clients and engaging in business development initiatives.
Key activities include:
Drafting, negotiating and agreeing facility agreements and other finance documents.
Leading and driving on key transactions, taking ownership for the same, with the support of partners.
Supervising, developing and coaching other members of the team.
Building new and existing client relationships, as you develop your own practice as part of our continued growth.
Contributing to the strategy and vision for the Banking & Finance Practice and the sector specific focus groups of the firm.
There will be significant progression opportunities available for the successful candidate, with an opportunity to truly make your mark on the practice.
What we're looking for from you
You will have at least 5 years' qualified banking experience and enjoy being part of a transactional team as you will be regularly collaborating with colleagues from our Property, Construction, Commercial and Corporate teams.
This role will involve advising clients on a full range of banking matters and transactions from start to finish. As a senior member of the team, you will need to be comfortable running your own matters largely independently.
Whilst we are open to a range of banking experience, exposure to real estate or corporate finance would be beneficial, notably in the context of the healthcare and living sectors.
As well as building out your technical skill-set, within this role, you will have a real opportunity to hone your business development skills and sector specific knowledge.
Our sector focus will allow you to continue to build and grow your Banking & Finance expertise on high value and high-profile transactions and also to complete transactions with impact and contribution. The role will have significant opportunity in the healthcare and living sectors, where we support our clients to deliver much needed care and living provision, including for care homes, schools and children's homes. This is work with meaning.
We are looking for passionate and committed lawyers who care deeply about delivering an excellent service to their colleagues and their clients, who take pride in the quality of their work and in the depth of their relationships and connections. You will be proactive and forward thinking, responsive and hard work and also caring, compassionate and collaborative.
Above all, we are looking for someone who is a team player by nature, with the drive and enthusiasm to help us grow our Banking & Finance practice and deliver an area of strategic growth for the firm.
