Job Description
Preparing food such as sandwiches and baked goods, grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving specialty beverages.
Packaging food and beverages for sale.
Facilitating beer sales from our bottle shop, if required.
Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting differences between products and educating guests on brewing methods.
Cleaning and restocking work areas and the café, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
Continuously learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve quality.
Assisting with coffee packaging for retail display.
Ensuring overall cleanliness of the café by sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces whenever time allows.
Updating signage and displays to attract both internal and external guests.
Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at the dairy station, and behind the counter.
Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
Adhering to all health, food safety, and quality control standards.
Barista Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous coffee knowledge is an asset.
Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
Willingness to train and continue learning about food and beverage preparation.
Strong listening and communication skills.
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
Availability to work peak hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
A polite, engaging, guest-focused personality.
Commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence.
Willingness to work as part of a fast-paced, high-energy team.
Smart Serve certified or willing to obtain.
