About Deane House
Built in 1+06 for Captain Richard Deane, the Deane House is a historic landmark in Calgary's trendy neighbourhood Inglewood. With a focus on seasonal and regional cuisine, the culinary team takes guests on an adventure through our culinary past and present. Deane House is a full service, à la carte fine dining restaurant, open 6 days a week, with brunch offered on weekends. A 80 seat restaurant with a library and bar upstairs for private events, and a garden patio sitting up to +0 guests; an ideal space for weddings and other special occasions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
In support of the River Café Group of companies, this position in responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service and attention to detail in creating an exceptional dining experience according to Company procedures.
· Provide exceptional service and hospitality to all guests and adhere to our technical steps of service standards.
· Provide efficient beverage service to servers
· Use the Point of Sale (Squirrel) accurately according to the systems set in place by the Company.
· Maintain accountability for bar stock, cellar stock and cellar organization/cleanliness.
· Ensure that the bar, wine, glassware storage areas are kept clean, stocked and organized at all times
· Assist in the dining room whenever necessary: watering tables, running food, opening wine bottles, running drinks
· Make cappuccinos, lattes, tea and coffee with proper service and prep
· Ensure glassware and coffee cups are clean and polished in a timely manner
· Keep the bar and all equipment thoroughly cleaned including dishwasher, coffee machine, coffee grinder, cappuccino machine and electric burners
· Ensure dishwasher is cleaned daily, assembled and operating properly
· Complete daily opening and closing checklists with the highest accuracy
· Assist is creating seasonal craft cocktails and recipe writing
· Keep the bar book organized and up to date
· Ensure continuous sanitization of bar top and all high touch points behind the bar
Qualifications and Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 year’s experience as a server in the food and beverage industry
ProServe Certification is required
WSET Level 1 is an asset
