JOB SUMMARY
This is an important role in delivering Cubic's services to our customers. The main function of the role is to develop new software and systems for enabling efficient and consistent delivery of Basedata with a high degree of accuracy.
We are looking for a .Net developer to build software using languages and technologies of the .NET framework. This role involves creating applications from scratch, configure existing systems and provide user support.
In this role, you should be able to write functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects. You should be a team player and excellent communicator. If you are also passionate about the .NET framework and software design/architecture, we'd like to meet you. Your goal will be to work with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software.
The developer may manage a small team and they are responsible for the close supervision of that team. They may develop a technical relationship with clients and provide their expertise in support of client requirements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May be required to perform additional duties):
Requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
• Participate in requirements analysis
• Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages
• Test and deploy applications and systems
• Revise, update, refactor and debug code
• Improve existing software
• Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Assist software personnel in handling project related work and other requirements
• Coordinate with other software professionals and developers
• Follow Cubic change control procedures when making changes to any production affecting element or system, configuration item, document or contractual obligation.
• Attend off site customer and project meetings, independent test witnessing and installations as required
System Improvement
• Develop and maintain data management systems and processes in order to facilitate business requirements with a consistent and reliable method.
• Recommend, system and process improvements
• Work with other teams within CTS to develop and implement new assets required for clients to deliver the service required by the relevant contracts. Ensure that new assets are integrated into existing service or new service contracts whilst preserving the quality and performance of the existing assets.
Team
• Support any aspect of team output as needed and where expertise allows.
• Review and provide feedback on the work of other team members and be open to review of your own work by peers.
• Mentor colleagues in the early stage of their career and ensuring that they are presented with the right opportunities to develop the career and capabilities.

• Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.

Essential:
• Computer Science/Engineering degree or a related field
• Commercial software development experience
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
• Proven experience as a .NET Developer or Application Developer
• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns
• Solid understanding of T-SQL and SQL design principles
• Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience in writing complex T-SQL queries which includes implement procedures and functions.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools i.e., SmartGit,
• Proven software development experience in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with the customer's principles
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Good written communication skills
