Behavioral Health Specialist
As a Behavioral Healthcare Specialist, you will provide direct patient care to patients with psychiatric disorders; ensure the safety and well-being of these patients; and support the maintenance of a therapeutic environment.
About the Role
This position involves working with geriatric, adult, adolescent, or child patients who require behavioral healthcare services. You will be responsible for ensuring their safety and well-being while also supporting the maintenance of a therapeutic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in treatment planning and follow through on established plans.
Observe and identify patient needs and suggest modifications to treatment plans as needed.
Provide input on and implement patient discharge plans.
Accompany and transport patients as assigned.
Facilitate community meetings for patients.
Maintain accurate records of patient unit documentation.
Admit new patients to the unit, program, and milieu.
Maintain a safe and orderly environment for patients.
Assist patients with daily living activities consistent with treatment plans.
Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support patient care and organizational operations.
Requirements
High School Diploma required.
1 year of Behavioral Healthcare experience highly preferred.
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelines.
