You will be working as a Bids & Proposal Engineer at global grade 14 and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Sales Manager. In this role, your strong technical and market knowledge will assist you in providing customers with efficient and effective solutions.

Your responsibilities
• Formulating competitive bids or estimation or quotation for Automatic Voltage Regulator (Static Excitation System) and generator control panel including synchronization in power generation domain, considering best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation
• Ensuring tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs. Managing the preparation of RFI (Request for Information), RFQ (Request for quote) all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable product types, financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid, estimate, quotation indicating prices and trading conditions
• Managing external services to support bid or estimation preparing such as translations and governmental approvals, specific focus to be applied for the requirements of government as well as global tender in relation to how the suppliers will support and meet the specifications
• Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer or order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Reporting the status of the bids, estimates, quotations using defined tools and collecting and analyzing the reasons for tenders being lost and won
• Identifying potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimations and in any related contract agreements across customers or channels
• Providing information and or participating in the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy
Your background
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical or Electronics & Communication engineering
• Minimum 3 to 8 years of experience in preparing bids, estimations in automatic voltage regulator, static excitation system, generator control and protection panel or synchronization panel
• Experience in reading and responding to Indian government RFQ’s as well global RFQ’s
• Experience in Understanding the electrical schemes of Synchronous machine Excitation system, Protection and synchronization
• Knowledge on Excitation or AVR products and solutions. Having ability to understand customer specifications or requirements
• Good communication skills
