Job Summary
An international freight forwarding company is seeking a Bilingual Japanese/English Ocean Import/Export Agent to join their team in Rancho Dominguez, CA. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply. This full‑time, non‑exempt, in‑person position involves performing sales functions, handling customer service support, and supporting sales, accounting, and administrative tasks. A bachelor’s degree and some experience in ocean logistics, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, are required.
Pay Range
Base pay: $50,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience; discuss with recruiter)
Location
Rancho Dominguez, CA (in‑person)
Responsibilities
• Handle and check quotes.
• Take care of ocean logistics documentation.
• Help others handle orders for each sales channel (B to B business).
• Receive, input, and verify sales orders, ensuring accuracy from entry to invoicing.
• Communicate with warehouses and factory for sales orders and production.
• Contact customers regularly via telephone, email, letters, and in person to ascertain their needs and maintain business information.
• Handle customer service complaints, product complaints, and customer requests via telephone and e‑mail.
• Ensure that orders are shipped on time and accurately.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, greet visitors, and provide general administrative and clerical support (mailing, scanning, faxing, copying).
Qualifications
• Must have an associate degree or higher.
• Must have some experience in ocean logistics.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Entry level candidates are welcome.
