This is a contract role for 6 to * months with possible extension.
We are seeking a highly experienced BIM Coordinator – MEPF to support the coordination and delivery of mission-critical Data Center projects in Texas. The role will be responsible for BIM model coordination, clash detection, interdisciplinary integration, and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) systems throughout the design and pre-construction phases.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience coordinating complex MEP systems within data center or Large Scale-critical facilities and will be responsible for ensuring models are developed, coordinated, and delivered in accordance with US BIM standards, project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
• BIM Coordination & Model Integration
• Lead MEPF BIM coordination for large-scale data center infrastructure projects.
• Manage and coordinate federated BIM models across multiple disciplines, including Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection.
• Ensure BIM models comply with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Level of Development (LOD) requirements, and coordination standards.
• Coordinate model exchanges between design consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of coordinated 3D BIM models for construction and coordination reviews.
• Clash Detection & Coordination
• Perform clash detection and interference analysis using coordination tools.
• Lead and facilitate weekly BIM coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and design teams.
• Generate and manage clash detection reports, issue tracking logs, and coordination matrices.
• Monitor and drive the resolution of coordination conflicts across disciplines.
MEPF System Coordination
Coordinate complex MEPF systems typical to hyperscale or enterprise data center facilities, including:
HVAC systems and cooling infrastructure
Electrical distribution systems and power infrastructure
Fire protection and life safety systems
Cable tray and containment routing
Plumbing and drainage systems
Coordination within tight ceiling and equipment zones typical of data centers
BIM Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with US BIM standards and industry practices, including:
BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements
LOD standards
US construction documentation practices
Model coordination workflows used during pre-construction
Support implementation of best practices in BIM coordination, model quality control, and information management.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain:
BIM coordination reports
Clash detection logs
Issue tracking documentation
Coordination progress reports
Assist project teams in developing coordinated construction documentation from BIM models.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in BIM coordination or BIM management.
• Proven experience in MEPF coordination for complex building projects.
• Strong experience in Data Center or Hyper/Large Scale -Critical Facilities preferred.
• Experience working within US project standards and construction practices.
• Strong ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and contractors.
Technical Skills
Autodesk Revit (Advanced proficiency)
Navisworks Manage – Clash Detection & Coordination
Model federation and multidisciplinary model coordination
BIM issue tracking and coordination workflows
Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEP)
Understanding of LOD standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on hyper/large-scale data center projects.
Familiarity with US construction workflows and contractor coordination processes.
Experience coordinating high-density MEP systems typical in data center environments.
Experience working with international design and engineering teams.
