Job Description
BioSarthi, a product by CGF Bioenergy, is a cutting-edge platform integrating advanced technology and data analytics to enhance the performance and emissions tracking of biogas plants. It operates as a marketplace in the green fuel sector, focusing on optimizing the compressed biogas (CBG) ecosystem. BioSarthi's platform captures and monitors methane emissions using intelligent sensor networks, driving sustainable energy production and contributing to greenhouse gas mitigation efforts.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant Operations Manager at BioSarthi in New Delhi. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations of CBG plants, ensuring optimal performance through feedstock management, gas upgrading, gas compression, and overall plant efficiency. The role requires significant hands-on experience in CBG plant operations, from feedstock pre-processing to gas purification, ensuring that biogas production is optimized and compliant with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Feedstock Management: Oversee and optimize feedstock management, including substrate quality assessment, substrate mixing ratios, and ensuring proper feedstock conditioning to maximize biogas yield.
- Anaerobic Digestion Process Control: Supervise the anaerobic digestion (AD) process to ensure optimal biogas production, focusing on key parameters like pH, temperature, organic loading rate (OLR), and retention time. Troubleshootand mitigate issues such as reactor imbalances, foaming, or process inhibition.
- Gas Upgrading and Compression: Manage gas upgrading processes and ensure gas compression meets industry standards for CBG storage and distribution. The manager should be familiar with all techniques used in biogas upgrading and purification, such as CO₂ and H₂S removal, though specific methods used may vary.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Ensure real-time monitoring of biogas plant parameters such as gas composition (CH₄, CO₂, H₂S, etc.), pressure, flow rate, and energy consumption to ensure plant performance and efficiency are maintained at optimal levels.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules for critical equipment such as digesters, gas storage, gas upgrading systems, compressors, and purification systems. Lead troubleshooting efforts for plant issues such as equipment failure, feedstock inconsistencies, or fluctuations in gas quality.
- Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure plant operations adhere to all relevant environmental, safety, and quality regulations, particularly those governing emissions, gas purity, and the handling of pressurized gases.
- Performance Optimization: Use performance data and key process indicators (KPIs) to continuously enhance the plant’s efficiency, gas yield, and overall production. Implement process improvements and adjustments to optimize biogas and CBG output.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10-12 years of hands-on experience in the setup, operations, and optimization of CBG plants, with deep knowledge
