BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION SHIFT SUPERVISOR

Position Type: Permanent, Full-time.

Start Date: ASAP

This position would report to the Production Manager and is responsible for supervising extruder personnel by ensuring that the production time is met while inspecting materials to verify conformance with quality standards.

DUTIES & POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Play an active role in the training of new extruder personnel by following the Training Program set out by the company.
Maintain production records and ensure extruder personnel are completing records accurately.
Perform daily inspect and/or audit of finished products before they are shipped.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
Monitor and assess employee performance.
Complete Shift activity reports and submit to Production Manager daily.
Maintain housekeeping at a high level in Extrusion area, through the involvement of all extruder employees.
Initiate, recommend, investigate, troubleshoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to products, processes and quality systems.
Review production schedules, work orders, and other records/reports to determine production requirement and to evaluate current production workload.
Develop and maintain cost-effective processes to increase productivity and employee satisfaction, while reducing waste.
Work closely with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment maintenance is scheduled at the most opportune times, in order to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
Conduct Quality audits and develop and implement action plans to correct noted deviations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Manage and/or adjust work procedures to meet production requirements.
Develop methods to utilize personnel and resources in the best possible ways.
Develop, support and motivate production employees in applying our values.
Interpret and enforce company policies, safety regulations and operating procedures.
Analyze and resolve work problems and assist staff in solving problems.
Maintain a positive, respectful and open communication with team members.
QUALIFICATION:

College Degree in manufacturing, quality control or other relevant field from an accredited institution.
Three (3) years’ experience of supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience in a leadership position.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
Strong physical endurance.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
