Duties & Responsibilities
• Inspect, repair, and maintain industrial boilers, keeping detailed records of all work completed
• Perform regular maintenance such as cleaning, descaling, and making minor repairs to prevent major issues from developing
• Respond to emergency calls for service 24/7, troubleshooting problems and making repairs as needed
• Install new boiler systems according to specifications, connecting pipes, fittings, and controls
• Test newly installed systems to ensure they are operating correctly and make any necessary adjustments
• Keep up with changing technology and advances in the field by attending workshops, seminars, and trade shows
• Maintain a safe work environment by following all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal codes when performing work
• Train new employees on proper boiler operation and maintenance
• Assist other members of the maintenance team with repairs and installations as needed
• Prepare cost estimates for replacement parts and new equipment
• Generate reports detailing work performed and time spent on each job

Required Skills and Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in boiler maintenance, repair, and installation
• 5+ years experience as a boiler technician
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• 7+ years experience as a boiler technician
• Experience with computerized boiler controls
• Industrial boiler license
• Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
