Overview
We are a dedicated domiciliary care provider, supporting people to live independently in their own homes with compassion and dignity. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our financial processes and requires proficiency in accounting software.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records (ledgers, journals, reconciliations).
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Support external audits as required.
Assist with resolving staff enquiries about accounts department.
Tracking client payments (especially if invoicing local authorities or private clients).
Ensuring staff payroll (care workers) is accurate and timely.
Ensure compliance with PAYE, pensions, and statutory deductions.
Skills & Requirements
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite (advantageous).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
