Role: Bookkeeper

Description:

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records for a range of clients and providing reliable bookkeeping services. You will work closely with clients to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations, while supporting the wider team in meeting business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily bookkeeping tasks for clients, mainly in the office but sometimes on-site.

Build strong client relationships and offer trusted advice.

Implement and maintain accounting software systems, such as Xero.

Prepare accurate financial statements, including income and expenditure.

Reconcile balance sheets and P&L accounts.

Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts accurately.

Assist with the preparation of management accounts and reports.

Process VAT returns and ensure tax compliance.

Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.

Support ad hoc financial and administrative tasks.

Key Requirements:

AAT qualification or equivalent experience.

2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in an accountancy practice.

Proficiency with Xero and other accounting technologies, knowledge of Dext would be an advantage.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements:

Full UK driving licence.

Proactive approach to technology and process improvement.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
