Job Description
RND Construction Ltd. is a small Ottawa-based company and is a known leader in creating energy-efficient homes and minimizing the impact on the environment at every phase of construction (custom homes, major renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, etc.), while consistently promoting healthy and comfortable indoor air quality.
RND Development Ltd. is a commercial company currently leasing five commercial spaces.
Responsibilities:
maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger entries;
ensure timely corporate payments to various federal, provincial and city departments;
ensure payroll service is compliant with all relevant tax and employment regulations, and approve employees' timesheets and post accurate payroll entries into accounting system;
manage group health plan, and ensure payroll service has accurate employees' premium deductions;
prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual financial reports for management, accountant and financial institutions;
reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts on a regular basis;
assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and job profitability reports;
manage vendor/customer relationships, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing;
support federal or provincial audits by preparing documentation and liaising with external auditors, as required;
implement and maintain efficient financial systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency;
manage the commercial leases and rental income, as well as keeping accurate operating costs for each leased location;
assist management with human resources duties, when required.
Qualifications:
proven experience as a bookkeeper and/or finance officer, or similar role;
proficiency with QuickBooks software (Premier Contractor Edition would be ideal), as well as advanced spreadsheet skills;
strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and tax regulations;
exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills;
ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines;
excellent communication skills for collaborating with both financial and accounting institutions, as well as with the office staff;
a commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial management.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
