Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the financial health of our organization. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records through double entry bookkeeping

Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring accuracy of debits and credits

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting

Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for

Assist with payroll processing and related tasks

Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards

Analyze accounts for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly

Support budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data

Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or similar tools for efficient record keeping

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparation when necessary

Experience

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably in corporate or non-profit settings

Familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus

Strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles

Experience with account reconciliation processes and account analysis

Proficient in using financial software for reporting and analysis purposes

Excellent 10 key typing skills for data entry accuracy

Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is advantageous

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
