Boom/Pole Truck Operator

POSITION SUMMARY: Curtis Powerworks Inc. is a Utility line construction company. Curtis Powerworks Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Boom/Pole Truck Operator to join our team and to learn and grow in the utility trade. Union benefits without the dues. We are proud to offer modern and well upkept equipment. Candidate must be a self-motivated individual and a team player who can get along well with others. Must be capable of working with minimal supervision and in an outdoor environment. Working with a small crew, all over the central area. Candidates will be assigned 1 truck for 1 operator. No boom experience required, we will be happy to teach you have to be a safe and efficient boom truck operator.
DUTIES:
- Installation of utility poles
- Hauling long/oversized loads
-Submitting inventory reports
- Loading and off-loading materials from trailers and flatbeds
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid class 3 driver’s license with minimum 2 years driving experience and towing trailers
- Experience hauling long/oversized loads considered an asset.
- Experience in utility line construction considered an asset.
- Experience operating boom truck considered an asset.
- Experience driving in harsh road conditions considered an asset.
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract) or be able to provide one.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, optional 10 and 4 (depending on work load) 7am-7pm. On-call for emergency work after hours
Work Site Environment: Outdoors various weather types. Various parts of the province.
Wage: $30-35 per hour. Double time on emergency calls. Per diem when working out of town. Accommodations paid for by Curtis Powerworks. Curtis Powerworks also offers Medical and Retirement benefits.
