Job Description
Responsibilities:
Work under the guidance of the supervisor.
Ensure structural integrity of walls, partitions, arches, and other constructions by following approved plans and specifications.
Maintain safety standards on construction sites, including proper use of scaffolding, ladders, and personal protective equipment. Follow Solid Masonry's safe work method statement to ensure site safety and correct use of PPE.
Adhere to building codes and regulations, ensuring compliance with Australian construction standards.
Provide quality workmanship that is both aesthetically pleasing and durable.
Coordinate with team members builders, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure smooth project execution.
Main tasks:
Laying bricks, blocks, and stone in mortar
Constructing and repairing walls, foundations, arches, chimneys, and other structures
Operating brick-cutting machines and hand tools
Mixing and applying mortar and other bonding agents.
Cutting and shaping bricks and blocks.
Alignment checking using spirit level, plumb lines and string lines.
Finishing work: removing excess mortar from joints and pointing.
Must be legally able to work in Australia.
