This position is perfect for a licensed PE with 6-9 years of experience looking to advance into a more prominent technical role and project leadership.

Your Responsibilities:
• Lead structural analysis and design efforts for challenging bridge and transportation structures.
• Perform and oversee detailed load ratings for a variety of bridges tailored to different complexities.
• Act as a technical reviewer for calculations and design documentation.
• Engage directly with TxDOT and other clients to ensure project alignment.
• Develop cost-effective and feasible solutions while adhering to schedules and budgetary constraints.
• Review construction submissions and facilitate project delivery through every phase.
• Mentor and oversee Structural EITs and interns to foster their professional growth.
• Support business development initiatives to expand our bridge practice in Texas.

What You Need:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• 6-9 years of bridge design experience.
• Demonstrated experience with TxDOT projects (required).
• Proficiency in OpenBridge Designer software.
• In-depth knowledge of AASHTO bridge design specifications.
• Familiarity with TxDOT standards and manuals.
• Hands-on experience with rehabilitation and widening of existing bridges.
• Excellent communication skills and experience with client interactions.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to maintain a safe and productive work environment. Note that Volkert follows federal regulations regarding drug testing.
• A valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
