You’ll be hands-on with the latest digital and 2110 IP technology, ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 broadcast environment.

In this role, you will be supporting studio production equipment, Field/ENG production equipment, and broadcast infrastructure, including Master Control, Editing, Transfers (Ingest/News Exchange), Graphics, and control rooms. The position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and rectification of video, audio, and broadcast-related IT systems.

This position involves 24/7 shift work on a rotating roster to support Seven’s operational needs.

Based in Eveleigh, Sydney, and reporting to the Head of Technical Services, you will be responsible for:

Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast equipment and IT systems, ensuring high uptime and reliability while following established procedures and adhering to safety and change management policies.
Liaise effectively with operational staff, vendors, and third-party providers to resolve issues, manage support needs, and coordinate network and system requirements.
Take ownership of technical development through self-education, proactive maintenance, and staying updated with emerging broadcast technologies.
Administer systems, manage capacity and consumables, maintain detailed technical documentation and asset registers, and support system commissioning and reconfiguration.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, customer focus, calmness under pressure, and the ability to work independently and reliably.
About You:

You will be a curious, detail-driven, and solution-focused Broadcast Support Technician who thrives on solving problems and embracing innovation. You love working hands-on with technology and constantly seeking to learn, improve, and make things better.

You will have:

Background in broadcast engineering, IT, production or TV operations experience.
Familiarity with existing broadcast systems (e.g., iNews, Viz, Mosart); project management, scripting, advanced IT admin, and installation experience; up to three areas of technical expertise preferred.
At least one or two expert-level areas (e.g., camera or VTR maintenance, IP streaming, RF tech, component repair, database administration, network engineering, etc.); physically capable of handling and installing heavy broadcast equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and documentation abilities; foundational knowledge in electronics, television technology, IP networking, and OS administration (Windows/Linux); proficiency in using television tools and measuring equipment.
Work closely with internal stakeholders across technical, operations, and editorial teams, as well as external vendors, service providers, and sales representatives.
