BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems business unit is currently looking for a dynamic, results driven Software Development Lead Engineer for Base Software development(BSW) - Project Executionas part of the software engineering competency at our Technical Centre India in Bengaluru.
The PowerDrive Systems business (PDS) unit of BorgWarner is responsible to deliver hybrid and full electric vehicle solutions to customers. Objective is to build strong application software teams for execution of global customer projects in EU & US.
In this role, the individual will be primarily responsible for technically leading the software team involved in base software development mainly on IOHwABs / LLIO layer of software for power electronics control modules according to Automotive SPICE process in the area of AUTOSAR architecture. The individual will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development
team, working on latest state of the art 800V SiC and 400V Si / SiC Inverters for Battery Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles for the e-Mobility mass market.

Educational Qualifications : B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Electronics / Communication / Electrical / Power Electronics / Instrumentation
Experience : 7-10 years of work experience in automotive BSW software development mainly AUTOSAR in IOHWABS / LLIO layer of SW development.
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
 Lead Team who develop software for the components of IoHwAbs, MCAL, CDD for use in power electronics production projects including inverter and converter electronic controllers, focusing on reusability across projects whenever possible.
 Lead requirements engineering, Collaboration with internal & external customers, systems, manufacturing competencies to understand their needs.
 Accurately define and document the technical side of the BSW Component schedule IoHwAbs, MCAL, CDD) with estimates and identified risks, Coordinate & lead Iteration planning, agile stand-up meetings.
 Lead enhancement of the controls and module/component architectures alongside strategic roadmap with cutting-edge technology advancements and innovative solutions
 Take responsibility for team’s designated software tasks from design through development, integration & test.
 Individually contribute to Design/code/test software following Automotive SPICE compliant development process.
 Working with multisite teams using AGILE methodology.
 Assist in debugging through established problem-solving techniques and debug on bench.
 Interface with Systems engineering to ensure software requirements are understood and documented appropriately & analyzed prior to software design and implementation for BSW components – IoHwAbs, MCAL, CDD
 Take initiative to test code against known usage, investigate faults/boundary conditions, and automate unit tests.
 Foster a global and inclusive environment that engages peers in technical project reviews and code reviews Ensure documented traceability from requirements through test cases.
 Mentor, influence, and coach team members to enhance engineering skills and achieve shared goals.
Major Job Qualifications / Skills:
 Strong Technical leadership experience in new product development and product launches
 Strong experience with AUTOSAR architecture, Configuration & implementation of BSW modules for IoHwAbs software components (ADC, DIO, PWMs Etc ), NVM/Memory, WDG, ECU Abstraction.
 Proficiency in MCAL Configuration (Gpt, Mcu, Dio, Pwm, Adc, Port, Ocu, CorTst, FlsTst, Icu), MCAL and CDD drivers development.
 Must have BSW software development experience in SPI, CAN, UDS and LIN protocols, etc.
 Solid Hands-on experience in Vector DaVinci toolchain, EBTresos
 Strong expertise in Programming (C/C++) and debugging for embedded multithreaded and multi core/CPU software environment.
 Good experience in Low-level drivers' software Development (HWIO/CDD), Validation, Debugging & Troubleshooting.
 Good Expertise in developing drivers for SPI communication.
 Strong ability to comprehend microcontroller hardware and associated schematics.
 Expertise in cross compilers and debuggers like Lauterbach
 Experience using industry standard development tools - e.g. toolchains, IDEs, configuration management etc.
 Good expertise in Design tools such as MATLAB/EA, unit testing tools such as TPT/CANTATA/VectorCAST/RTRT, Serial Comm testing tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer/NeoVI Fire.
 Experience designing complex fault-tolerant safety systems, and designing in accordance to industry standard specifications (e.g. ISO26262, ASPICE, Cyber Security)
 Strong development experience in serial communication protocols – CAN/CANFD, FLEXRAY, LIN, SENT, ETHERNET, UDS, and Instrumentation development using XCP, XETK, UDS
 Exposure to Agile methodology/CMM/SPICE/ISO 26262 /TS 16+4.
